Susan loves working with the beautiful transparency found in glass as
well as pure bright vibrant color. This combined with precious metals,
frits and enamels, she finds she has a vast array of materials for
expression.
She works with both Italian and German glass both known for their
clarity and beauty. Glass has such mystical properties, it lends itself
to very magical and timeless expression. Her hope is that by creating
conceptual, elegant and sometimes, fun loving pieces, the wearer will
enjoy and connect with the work as much as she does in its creation.
She is particulary inspired by both the surrounding world of nature and
the mythological and talismanic archtypes of the past. Having a
background in martial arts she finds a wonderful correlation and
transferal skill between dicipline and art.
